DIY Simple Skirt

 Hello!
I am so excited to finally show you all my DIY skirt !YaY! It is super simple to make and so cute! So lets get started!

1. First wrap your fabric around you 2-3 times depending on puffy you want it to be, and mark it.
2. Measure how long you want your skirt to be and add a bit extra for hemming. Now cut to the desired length.
3. Next measure the elastic around your waist and cut. (You can add extra around but since it stretches I didn't)

4. I then hemmed the bottom side. (Make sure the pattern on your fabric is the write right way up)

5. On the top I did a ZigZag stitch to stop it fraying and then sew a casing that fits your elastic.

6. Attach a safety pin to the end of the elastic and thread it though the casing

7. Join the two sides of the skirt together and sew them together.

8. Try it on, if it fits nicely cut off the extra after Step 7 and zigzag stitch down so it stop fraying.

And your done.
Tips from large sewing projects:
• Take your time
• Always remember to pin in place before sewing
• Never sew over pin, as they could break
• Always make sure you have enough thread on spool and bobbin to last the entire project (I learnt that the hard way)
• Take break frequently
• Try not to stress about it not working, you can always have another go :)

I really hope this tutorial helps and inspire you to recreate this! I'm super sorry there you not pictures for them all it got to dark for good quality photos.
Also the photos are taken in my room since its been raining outside and is all muddy.

Have an amazing day everyone! Thank you for visiting my blog,
