Room for Ruby • Themes?

Hey!
How was your weekend? Are you ready to jump into this weeks school work? Me neither. Well, I have something to keep your mind a little occupied from the stresses of school. Then grab your favourite drink and have a read of this :)

Today I want to talk to you about bedroom themes. The first and most important thing you should know about theme picking is to make sure it makes you happy.

'Pick a theme that makes you happy'

And if your current theme or just the pictures you have on your wall don't make you happy, then take them down immediately! You have most likely heard this before but always do what makes you happy, and if the place where you (probably) spend most of your time doesn't make you happy, then that's not good at all!
I continuously add small bits into my room, for example I have a huge empty wall in my room I have just started to fill up with beautiful artworks and crochet flowers. Because artworks and crochet make me happy, now I can look at them all the time :)

Something you should know about me is that if there is a blank space I will fill it with something, whether that space is a wall, shelve, or on my bedside table it will most likely gets filled.

And, I encourage you to do the same, you don't have to do it as extreme as I do and if you don't like  clutter, try wall art.

If you like everything in your room separately but not as a complete room then consider mixing up the placement and maybe even adding something new.
How to create a theme
Creating a theme is really fun and is made easy with these basic steps:

• Start with some big and bold
Such as a duvet/doona cover, a coloured piece of furniture, wall art, a painted wall or for the really courageous try wall paper.

• Add on related objects and decorations
Adding on items relating to your main colour/pattern/picture is the fun part, so enjoy it, slowly look around for cute decorations as well as more functional items to add to your room.

• DIY to make it more you
Making things for your room is so rewarding and adds a personal touch to it. This is also a great way to save some ca$h if your on a budget.

• Finishing touchs
Feel a bit cold? Add a rug. Feel to bare? Add garlands and other hanging decorations.
Consider what your room needs to be complete, then add it to make your room perfect :)
I really hope this changed your perspective on your room theme and made you want to change it up slightly or completely. Now after writing this and talking about bedrooms I think I should clean mine a little.

I think I did somewhat well with my post schedule, although I was went to
Are there any posts you think I should do next? Maybe Christmas themed posts? If you have any suggestions please let my know in the comments :)
