DIY Paper Windmill

Hello everyone!
Lately I have been wanting to add more DIYs to my room (even though there's a lot in my room already) and since I moved I have had a huge opportunity to change the design and feeling of my room. I can't wait to design my room 'better'. For the first DIY I wanted to make a paper windmill since I love the fancy ones that spin that you can probably find almost everywhere but I can never seem to find, so I really wanted to make one of my own to make it unique.

You will need:
• Square paper in different patterns
• Hot glue gun and glue sticks
• Brads (I call them spilt pins, hehe)
• A stick or pencil
• Scissors
First get your paper and fold it in half diagonally, then in half again.
Next open it up completely and cut into the middle on the folds, making sure to stay about 1-2cm away from the middle.
Using something pointy (I used a unpicker/Seam ripper) poke a hole in either the left or right of each triangle and into middle. Now using a brad of choice, poke it into each hole you made in the triangles then into the middle, now spilt the brad at the back. If you want you can stop here if you will like (it will still be cute!)
To finish it off, use a hot glue gun to a pencil (or whatever your using) to the back of your windmill :D
And your done!
But if your still not completely happy with it you can add any decorations to it including gems, tape, glitter, ect.
I love this tutorial its so easy and I just want to make so many but I don't know where they would all go! I also did one with no stick/pencil and put it on the side of my book shelf, I think it looks really pretty. If you happen to try out this paper windmill I would love to see!

Thanks visiting, have a great day

  1. I remember making these when I was younger but had forgotten how to to them, I'm going to go make some now. I also couldn't help but notice Divergent in one of the photos, I love that book so much!
