Thrift Shopping Tips

Hello,
I know that so many people have always thought about going to a thrift shop but don't know how to approach it. I have grown up in thrifted clothes and been loving to shop at them for as long as I can remember, so I thought it would be helpful to people if I gave you some tips for if you decide to go thrift shopping :)

Locate your local stores

Know where you are going to shop by searching where all your local thrift stores are, marking it on a map and try to find the shortest route around all the stores.

Don't be afraid to adjust

If you find something you really like (lets say if you find a cute skirt) but it is to big, then don't be afraid to buy it and adjust the size to fit you. Skirts are one of the easiest clothing items to adjust so if you want to start learning I would recommend adjusting a skirt first.

Take your time

Do not rush through thrift shops, you might miss something amazing or something you could of really loved. Remember to look everywhere, someone could of mistaken an item and put it in the wrong place or hidden something they really liked in a unexpected place (maybe they had no money and just thought they would look around anyway).

Take a good look

When I find something I like I think; where will it go, will I use or wear it, do I need it, will it take up to much room, ect. So try to remember all those things (or more) when you go to buy it.

Get there early

Getting there early gives you a great advantage to find something you like and have a wider selection of unique items. This is something I'm quite bad at because I like my sleep but it is a main key to getting better things.

Try new stores

I like to try and find new thrift shops out of the local area so I can explore new product areas and I find it so fun looking through random thrift stores.

Have fun

Most of all you should always be having fun when you go thrifting, even if you don't find what you want stay positive maybe you will find something next time :D
