Guess what?! Well while searching on Gumtree (P.S. this never actually happens) I came across an awesome looking World Globe for $20! I have a weird thing about world globes, they are just the coolest things it have in your room, like hello a mini Earth in your room. Anyways, I told mum I would love it for my birthday and we reached out to the owner, then bam! We were picking it up the next day. Magical.
I had no idea what it was going to be like but I was darn excited to see it. We picked it up and OMG it was huge (and still is), I was scared it would be small (like I would care anyway..) but it is 30cm, I think the 'regular' sized ones are 25cm. Also to add to the coolness it has mountains! Thats right mountain *Insert Sunglasses Emoji here* B)
Even though its for my birthday it's sitting on the dining table (such a tease, mum) and I like going over and looking around the world. I have had it for 2 days and I already know how to spell the Capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar.. Mainly because it has so many a's, oh and no I didn't google it.
After we picked up the globe, mum and I went to Maitland Art Gallery, and if you follow me on instagram you will already know. Well to be honest I didn't really like a lot of the stuff there this time BUT above is probably to most stressful art ever made. Someone (congratulations to you) poked holes in leaves to make pretty patterns (left), then used the left over pieces to make more pretty artwork (right)... it's just crazy, they need a metal!
Then we went into the children's area, at the moment they have work done by children in hospital. There was origami (above), mosaics, silk painting, designing horses and clay faces. Everything was done really well and I could never see me doing a clay face like them. There was also drawings done by children from the ages 5-16, some were SO cute I just wanted keep them, like Bob the gorilla :D
We had delicious lunch there too, mum and I share the chicken toast with mango chutney (YUM) and I had a kids milkshake. It was so yummy! After eating we went across the road and I took a photo of the building so I could draw it when we got home.
Before going home we looked around Kmart and I (FINALLY!) found a pair of high-waisted jeans! I have been looking all year and nobody has them anymore, only mid-rise :(. Then we looked through an op-shop and I bought a shirt that I want to turn into a skirt, Ooooo, more on that another time :)
I had a great day, it was just what I needed after my weirdness lately! I hope you liked this post, I enjoyed writing it, Yay! :)
